近年来高功率光纤激光技术是国际尖端技术研发领域的最大热点之一,国内外科学家在材料、器件及应用等方面开展了卓有成效的研究。我国在高功率光纤激光器的研究与应用方面也取得了一系列重要成果,但与国际先进水平相比还有较大差距。为了解国际先进技术发展动态,拓展思路、提升我国高功率光纤激光器技术的整体研究水平,中国宇航学会光电技术专业委员会和国防科技大学联合其他相关单位于2012年4月11-13日在成都市举办“国际高功率光纤激光技术研究及应用研讨会”。会议组委会力邀英国、美国、澳大利亚等国家从事高功率光纤激光技术研究的资深专家来华展示和讲解国际最新技术发展成果,并与国内技术人员互动深入交流;同时会议还聚集了国内参加重大项目的重点单位和专家深入探讨我国高功率光纤激光器件、系统及应用等方面的研究进展和存在问题。诚挚欢迎国内相关领域技术人员、研究人员和企业界人士参会学习、交流。会议同期安排产品展示活动。

Johan Nilsson (Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, UK)
Talk title: High-power fiber lasers: recent developments and new challenges
Professor Nilsson leads the high-power fiber laser group at the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), University of Southampton. He has worked on optical amplifiers and amplification in lightwave systems, optical communications, and guided-wave lasers, for both Samsung and the ORC. His research has covered system, fabrication, and materials aspects of guided-wave lasers and amplifiers, particularly device aspects of high power fiber lasers and erbium-doped fiber amplifiers. He has published 300+ scientific articles and chaired the 2006 Fiber Laser Technology & Applications conference at Photonics West. He is a fellow of the OSA.
Lin Li (Deputy head of School of Technology, University of Manchester; Director of Laser Processing Research Centre, UK)
Talk title: New process capability demonstrated by fibre laser processing
Professor Li set up the first high power laser processing research laboratory and research group at UMIST in 1994. He set up a multiple disciplinary Laser Processing Research Centre (LPRC) in 2000. He is the author and co-author of over 450 publications in peer reviewed journals and proceedings of international conferences in laser processing science and technology and advanced manufacturing. He is the inventor/co-inventor of 45 patents relating to laser processing technology. He was elected as Fellow of Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Laser Institute of America (LIA), International Academy of Production Engineering (CIRP) and International Association of Nanomanufacturing.
Almantas Galvanauskas (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, University of Michigan, USA)
Talk title: Large core single-mode CCC fibers for monolithic integration of high power fiber lasers
Professor Galvanauskas has been working in the field of fiber lasers for twenty years, and has more than 200 publications, including 30 patents and patent applications. He had pioneered ultrashort-pulse fiber CPA and his work had resulted in demonstrating several record-breaking achievements in performance of fiber lasers. Prior to joining University of Michigan he spent eight years in industrial R&D. His current work spans areas from novel fiber designs to advanced fiber laser systems, including beam combining of pulsed and ultrashort pulse lasers, and new fiber laser applications such as high-intensity laser plasma produced EUV and X-ray generation. He is also a co-founder of Arbor Photonics, Inc.
David G. Lancaster (Senior Research Fellow , Adelaide University, Australia)
Talk title: Fibre lasers to bridge the short to mid-infrared spectral region
Associate Professor Lancaster was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Rice University for three years developing compact mid-infrared spectroscopic sensors for trace gas sensing. In 2000, he joined the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organization as a senior research scientist where he worked on mid-infrared lasers and short-infrared fibre lasers for electronic warfare applications. Now he is Senior Research Fellow at Adelaide University to establish and manage a silica fibre fabrication facility, develop short to mid-infrared fibre lasers using silica germanate and ZBLAN glasses, and develop new mid-infrared devices such as planar waveguide lasers. He has published 30 journal papers and over 50 conference publications.
Zhipei SUN (Engineering Department, University of Cambridge, UK)
Talk title: Towards ultrafast, high-power, broad-band lasers enabled by nanotubes and grapheme
Dr. Sun was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship in the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), Spain. He is currently a research associate in the Department of Engineering, Cambridge University. His current research interests encompass nano-photonics, ultrafast photonics and nonlinear optics. In particular, he focuses on applications of various nanomaterials (e.g. graphene, nanotubes and nanowires) for photonics and optoelectronics. He has contributed over 120 refereed papers and conference proceedings/presentations, 2 book chapters and 7 patents and patent applications.
